Treva Whateva and Robd dig out some jazzy business for an hour of lovely, lovely vinyl, punctuated by semi-coherent ramblings and nonsense. Bacon punching, roasts and the intricacies of sleeve design are all covered, along with music form the likes of Ramsey Lewis, John Gregory and Azymuth. Hewan Clarke live - Northern Comfort Podcast Episode 4
November 24, 2009 05:43 AM PST
Easy all Here's the latest one, a couple of hours from last month's Northern Comfort, with special guest Hewan Clarke. Starts off with me for a half hour or so, and we had a little technical hiccup half way through which meant that a little bit of Hewan's set wasn't recorded, oops. Anyway, a lovely mix, have a listen. The next Northern Comfort is on the 14th December, with Pete Haigh. Ace. "After October’s excellent session with Colin Curtis (he loved it and wants to come back) and anticipating December’s Rafters re-union at the Music Box we are delighted to announce Colin’s former Rafters partner Hewan Clarke as our selector of choice for November. No stranger to the luxe-grime of our homely back room Hewan’s up for his third visit as he embodies the Northern Comfort ethos perfectly, playing considered and refined selections across the board. Last time he played our pens ran out as we tried to note down all the gems he was dropping. Such is the beauty of the man that he can keep both trainspotters and the dancefloor rapturously happy with some of the best music you’re ever likely to hear. All this comes as no surprise when you remember he earned his stripes behind the decks at venues such as Rafters, Berlin, Legend, The Playpen and the Hacienda; influencing numerous local acts with his all-inclusive DJ stylings. A real unsung pioneer in the city’s musical history we are always happy to host a true humble magnificent. " Next Page |
